I had tried to get down to the end of this road on the river on multiple occasions. One morning, I remember being quite determined---until I met a patch of road that made me too nervous, even with the Tundra. As mentioned above, the ease with which we got around on these bikes was absolutley ASTOUNDING---before we knew it (something like an hour and half, in "real time"), we found ourselves at the "end of the road"---literally:

I was AMAZED to find that . . . on my previous most serious attempt at getting to the "end of the line," I was only a few hundred yards, from the end. . . . Wow.
I was low on memory in my camera--but I just couldn't help myself. :) I went ~berserk with the taking of pictures. -I mean, FINALLY getting here was such an accomplishment---and I never knew if I'd ever be here again. . . .
The view, downstream:

The view, upstream:

A tree, hanging over the river.

The fall foliage was just . . . perfect:

The contrast, with some sort of ground foliage, and the green of the grass. . . .

. . . was very striking.
And here is one of the most beautiful Alaska pictures I have ever taken:

I couldn't help but just sigh and wonder at the beauty God had revealed to me this day. This was livin'!! (Something a graduate student all-too-rarely gets to do---EVER. :P :P ( :( :( ))
